The South Korean consumer electronics maker, Samsung, will be conducting its Galaxy Unpacked event today on the 22nd of January 2025, and many of its latest products are going to be unveiled at the grand ceremony. Among the much-awaited products is the next Galaxy S25 series flagship models and just a few hours ahead of their global launch, the live images of three new devices of the series have been revealed online.

Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra – Revealed Live Images

Unlike previous years, at this year’s first Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is believed to unveil four new Galaxy S25 series models for its consumers and it is the live images of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones that have been revealed.

We have already come across the design images of all these three models in the past, and the live images align with it. We can spot key design aspects such as the flat display/rear/side panels, thin symmetrical bezels, centrally-aligned punch-hole selfie camera, Galaxy Z Fold 6-like camera rings, and rounded corners even for the Galaxy S25 Ultra model too.

It also seems that the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ models are featured in the ‘Silver Shadow’ color, whereas the Galaxy S25 Ultra can be seen possibly in the Titanium Black and Titanium Gray colors. The Galaxy S25 smartphone Blue color variant has also been shared, along with the packaging boxes of the three devices.

Speaking more, apart from the above mentioned models, there is also a Galaxy S25 Slim device too that will be introduced along with the other smartphone models.

While Chinese smartphone makers are reportedly working on small-screen devices, the Cupertino-based Apple and South Korea-based Samsung are expected to unveil ultra-thin form factor devices in their upcoming flagship series. Following the previous update, an X tipster has shared more details concerning the Apple and Samsung ultra-thin smartphone models, raising concerns on whether they are practical or not.

Apple iPhone 17 Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim – Practical or Not?

Based on the previous update that was shared, both the iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Slim are suggested to arrive with batteries that have capacities ranging in between 3,000 to 4,000 mAh, and are going to have a body thickness in between 5.xmm to 6.xmm. However, the tipster @Cartidise raises the question whether these two devices are practical or not.

As per what has been shared by the tipster, no one really cares about how slim a smartphone is and 8mm or 8.5mm are both still thin. However, compromising on battery capacity to offer an even more slim form factor is impractical in his opinion. He also notes that Apple and Samsung are likely not expected to bring Si/C batteries in the first iteration of these thin phones.

Furthermore, he adds that their positioning is also confusing. For instance Samsung as already-known will be unveiling four new smartphone models in its Galaxy S25 series this time, and without dropping the plus model, the brand is planning to sell the slim model alongside it. Probably, the slim model could be priced USD 100 lesser than the ultra model or USD 100 more than the plus model. Apple on the other hand has decided to not release a plus model, and it is said to be replaced with the iPhone 17 Air.

It still remains to be seen whether the tech world would welcome the upcoming iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Slim ultra-thin smartphones or not, because so far there seems to be no demand for such devices when compared with the demand for small-sized phones. And on top, compromising on battery life is emphasized as a huge compromise by the tipster, which might probably backfire for the two brands.

Speaking more, Samsung has already confirmed the debut of its Galaxy S25 series flagships, and it will be taking place on the 22nd of January 2025, at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Apple’s iPhone 17 series as always could be unveiled later this year in September or October 2025.

Even though Samsung has already announced the next Galaxy Unpacked January 2025 event, leaks are still coming in. And yes, I am talking about the next S series called the Galaxy S25 Series. It is now already known that the whole series will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead of the rumoured Exynos 2500 SoC.

Earlier, a tipster revealed that the Galaxy S25 Series’ base RAM will be 12GB. Now, another tipster Tarun Vats has shared the pricing as well as the memory options it will feature. He detailed that this information was sourced from a retail outlet.

If we compare the base variant’s pricing of ₹84,999 (12GB+256GB) with the Galaxy S24’s base model (8GB+256GB), which launched at ₹79,999, there is a ₹5,000 increase. Comparing all the variants with the earlier S24 Series, the price hike appears consistent across the board, provided this leak is accurate.

Moving on, some rumours have suggested that the Galaxy S25 Slim may also be launching alongside these three models. However, so far, even on the Vietnamese retailer’s listings, the Slim variant was absent. So, it’s still unknown whether the Slim variant will make it to the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event or not.

Speaking more, we have already come across many updates concerning both the Galaxy S25 Slim model as well as the One UI 7 custom skin. Currently, the One UI 7 beta 3 program for the Galaxy S24 series is ongoing, and a new One UI 7 beta 4 update will also be rolled out for the eligible devices. This update (received via Tecnoblog) has firstly pointed to a key design change in the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra device, and deviating from the prevalent 90° corner design that we have seen since the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it is revealed to feature round corners this time. Notably, this was already suggested in the Galaxy Unpacked teasers as well, and moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold 6-like camera rings are also likely going to be there as per the new leak. Additionally, again, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ models are also revealed to feature the same.

Furthermore, two features of the Galaxy S25 series have also been shared – Now Brief and Gemini integration in YouTube, Samsung Notes, and maybe more apps. With Now Brief, Samsung Galaxy S25 series users will be provided with summaries of weather, health, and appointments, at different times of the day. Google Gemini integration is also expected to be an important feature, with the capability of accessing and controlling other apps like YouTube, Samsung Notes, and maybe more.

Now coming to the revealed specs, the Galaxy S25 Plus smartphone is revealed to sport a triple rear camera unit with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 50MP main camera (with 2x optical zoom), and 10MP telephoto camera (with 3x optical zoom), along with a 12MP selfie camera. It is also revealed to pack a 4900 mAh battery too. About the Galaxy S25 Ultra, a 50MP (ultra-wide) + 200MP (main, 2x optical zoom) + 50MP (telephoto, 5x optical zoom & 10x optical quality zoom) + 10MP (telephoto, 3x optical zoom) quad camera system and a 12MP front-facing camera are revealed to be present. A slightly larger 5000 mAh battery is also going to be backed within the device as per the leaked poster.

Unfortunately, their batteries are pointed out to have only 3000 mAh – 4000 mAh± capacity. Furthermore, the tipster also points to the concerns of heat dissipation and battery life too, that the flagship processors will have to deal with.

This update which has been shared by an X tipster (@ishanagarwal24) has revealed that following the pre-orders of the Galaxy S25 series, in the Indian market, the deliveries will start around the 3rd of February 2025, and the sales by 9th of February 2025. Moreover, the internal storage variants and color choices of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra models have also been shared by the same tipster.

As per his post, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options. Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium Pink Gold, Titanium White Silver, Titanium Jade Green, and Titanium Jet Black are believed to be its color choices that would be made available. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ devices are suggested to come in 256GB and  512GB internal storage options, and likely be offered in Blue Black, Silver Shadow, Pink Gold, Coral Red, Mint, and Navy or Ice Blue colors.

To add, apart from the mentioned three models, a Galaxy S25 Slim model is also expected to be introduced this time, however, its sale is probably not going to take place with the other three models as per what has been reported.
