The Chinese smartphone maker, Nubia, has now officially unveiled two of its latest smartphone models in Japan. These are the Nubia Flip 2 and Nubia S 5G devices.

Nubia Flip 2 and Nubia S 5G – Unveiled in Japan

Nubia’s Flip 2 is the brand’s vertically folding smartphone and it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity D7300X chip. It runs on the Android 14 operating system, and is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The device has a foldable main display of 6.9″ and has a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels. A rectangular-shaped cover display is also present, which is 3″ large and supports a screen resolution of 422 x 682 pixels.

On the camera side, a 50MP + 2MP camera system is offered at the rear. For selfies, users are also provided with a 32MP front-facing camera as well. Moreover, there is an LED ring light at the back too.

Regarding the battery, a decent 4300 mAh battery backup is given. Talk time of 1350 minutes, standby time of 410 hours, and 55 minutes of faster charging time are some more of its battery features.

Other key specs include 5G network connectivity, nano SIM + eSIM, Wi-Fi 6 with triple band support, Bluetooth 5.4, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face recognition, waterproof (IPX2) + dustproof (IP4X) body, 7.5mm (open)/15.8mm (closed) thickness, 191 gm weight, and more.

As mentioned, the Nubia Flip 2 comes in 6GB/128GB storage option and is priced at JPY 64080. It has three color choices – Black, White, and Blue.

The Nubia S 5G unlike the latest foldable uses the Unisoc T760 chip, and has the Android 14 operating system pre-installed in it. The device also has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, along with up to 1TB expandable storage support.

Speaking more, it features a 6.7″ TFT display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, and sports a 50MP triple rear camera unit and 16MP selfie camera. A 5000 mAh battery is also backed within the device, offering features like 2700 minutes talk time, 475 hours standby, and 83 minutes charging time.

5G network connectivity, nano SIM + eSIM, Bluetooth 5.0, side-mounted fingerprint reader, face recognition, waterproof (IPX5 & IPX8) + dust-proof (IP6X) body, 8.7mm thickness, and 197gm weight are more of its key specs.

It is priced at JPY 21996 for the 4GB/128GB storage model, and is available in three color choices of Black, White, and Blue (or Light Purple as per translation).

Nubia officially unveiled Nebula AIOS, which came pre-installed with the Nubia Z70 Ultra smartphone in the Chinese market. Well, the company has now officially announced the upgrade plan for the official version of Nebula AIOS 1.0.

As per the official announcement, this upgrade will be rolled out to Nubia Z60 Ultra and Nubia Z60 Ultra Advanced Edition in Q1 of 2025. While in Q2 of 2025, it will be released to Nubia Z60S Pro, Nubia Z50 Ultra, Nubia Z50, Nubia Z50S, and Nubia Z50S Pro smartphones in China.

Nebula AIOS 1.0- Features

As per the earlier official introduction, Nebula AIOS comes with hundreds of billion cloud-size large models and 3 billion end-side large models. Users can communicate freely anytime and anywhere with the help of AI translation (dialect translation, call translation, conference translation, conversation translation, subtitle translation, full-screen translation, and simultaneous interpretation).

Other AI features offered- AI voice booking, AI image search, AI smart text matching, proactive reminder, document generation and understanding, automatic execution, and more.

It is close to being one year following the Nubia Focus series debut in February 2024 and now, reports concerning the next Nubia Focus 2 5G model have arrived. This upcoming device has been spotted on a few certification platforms/listings and via one of which, the live image of the device has also been revealed.

Nubia Focus 2 5G – EU Declaration of Conformity, Wi-Fi Alliance, and Bluetooth SIG Listings

The upcoming Nubia Focus 2 5G bears the model number – ‘Z2462N’ and the EU Declaration of Conformity categorizes the device as a 5G multi-mode digital mobile phone with certificate number – ‘CCIC492-EU’. Its marketing name has been mentioned in the certification and the software version is revealed as ”NebulaOS 1.0.0_Z2462N_EEA”. Charging adapters with model numbers – ‘STC-A51030A2-A’, ‘STC-A51030A2-B’, ‘STC-A51030A2-T’, ‘STC-A5111530AC-A’, and ‘STC-A51115330AC-T’ have also been listed along with the smartphone.

It is via the EU Declaration of Conformity that the live image of the device has been revealed. While a circular rear camera module has been retained in the Nubia Focus 2 5G too, there are notable differences in the internal structure. Also, instead of two camera sensors, there seems to be a triple rear camera system in the upcoming Nubia Focus 2 5G (likely with an ultrawide lens). The LED flashlight, unlike before, is placed outside the camera module, at the top-left corner. Volume rocker and power button(+ fingerprint sensor) are present on the right side panel. The device is featured in a Glossy Whitish color.

Coming to the Wi-Fi Alliance listing, the device has been certified with the certification ID of ‘WFA133361’. Key specs like Android 15 operating system (Android V – Vanilla Ice Cream), Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, and 2.4GHz & 5GHz dual band support have been revealed via the Wi-Fi Alliance certification. However, there isn’t much that has been revealed from its Bluetooth SIG listing.

Speaking more, the previous Nubia Focus series consisted of two models – Nubia Focus 5G and Nubia Focus Pro 5G. But, when it comes to the Nubia Focus 2 series, it appears that a pro model won’t be coming this time. Instead, we may be seeing the debut of the Nubia Focus 2 5G and Nubia Focus 2 4G models as per reports and the certifications.

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone which bears the model number – ‘NX732J’ has received the Wi-Fi Alliance certification with certification ID – ‘WFA133730’, and it has been categorized as a ‘5G Digital Mobile Phone’. The listing also points out that the device will support Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with triple band support (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz), and will run on the Android 14 operating system. WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise/Personal security protection and Wi-Fi Direct are the other specs revealed via the certification database.

As mentioned, we had previously spotted the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 smartphone on the TENAA and 3C databases as well, and many key specs were already revealed. To add, the TENAA database also revealed its render images as well. From what it seems and based on the previous Nubia Flip launch time, as suggested earlier, we are quite near to the Nubia Flip 2 official launch.

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone which bears the model number – ‘NX732J’ has been certified by the 3C authority with the certificate number – ‘2024011606731401’ and certification validity till the 5th of December 2027. A charging adapter with model number – ‘STC-A5111530AC’ has also been listed along with the device, revealing that it will support a 33W wired fast charging feature just like its predecessor.

The February 2024 unveiled Nubia Flip (re-branded ZTE Libero Flip) successor, the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 foldable has been spotted on the TENAA database of China. Following the Nubia Flip smartphone launch in April 2024, the brand seems to release the next Nubia Flip 2 also in the Chinese market soon. Along with the certification listing, the key specs and design images of the device have also been revealed.

Nubia Flip 2 – TENAA Certification

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone is suggested to carry the model number – ‘NX732J’ and has been certified by the TENAA authority of China with the certification number – ’02-B656-243733′. It has been listed on the database as a 5G digital mobile phone with 2G/3G/4G/5G network connectivity support.

Coming to its revealed specs, it is pointed out to feature a 6.85″ large foldable AMOLED main display with 1188 x 2970 pixels resolution and 16.7 million color depth, along with a 3″ AMOLED cover display with 422 x 682 pixels resolution and the same 16.7 million color depth. At the rear, there is a 50MP + 2MP dual camera system and a 32MP front-facing camera is present for selfies. In size, the device measures 169.4 x 76 x 7.2 mm, and it weighs 193 gm.

The device will also be powered by a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor, and will run on Android. It will also be coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB internal storage. A 4225 mAh rated battery is also revealed to be backed within it.

Other specs include Bluetooth and USB connectivity, as well as sensors such as an under-display fingerprint scanner, gravity sensor, distance sensor, and light sensor.

Now speaking of the design, the major design change that one will identify on the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 when compared with its predecessor is the new cover display and rear camera unit. The previous Nubia Flip features a circular 1.43″ cover display with the two cameras occupied around the black outer area of the cover display. The LED flash is placed outside at the top-left corner.

The Nubia Flip 2 on the other hand will have a larger rectangular-shaped cover display with two vertically arranged individual cameras at the left side. Below the cameras, there is also a ring LED flashlight as well, and a centrally-aligned punch-hole selfie camera is given on the display.

To note, the new Nubia Flip 2 is slightly smaller and slightly wider in size. It is also slightly thicker than the previous model. Also to add, it has notably been made lighter than the Nubia Flip device. [Nubia Flip – Dimension: 170 x 75.5 x 7.0 mm (folded); Weight: 214 gm.]

Nubia, the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, under its gaming sub-brand had introduced the latest Red Magic 10 Pro and Red Magic 10 Pro+ smartphones and now, the whole attention has been brought to the flagship Nubia Z70 Ultra device. Nubia Z70 Ultra – More Teased Features

As per the new teaser images, many AI assistive features will be offered to users with the Nubia Z70 Ultra smartphone, ‘opening a new era of human-computer interaction’. From what it seems, the AI support may extend to time management and keyboard-free use. Moreover, with the help of AI, the device will offer real-time translation for WeChat calls, the first time (and only device) in the industry.

The device will also be bringing features showing its tribute to brands like Tesla, Apple, and ByteDance. Vehicle-machine interaction, touch interaction, and algorithmic interaction are some of them.

As already revealed earlier, Nubia’s Z70 Ultra will be featuring an industry-exclusive 1.5K true full-screen hole-less display. Additionally, the brand has opened user recruitment for offering a taste of the upcoming Z70 Ultra smartphone’s display experience. Users of Nubia Z-series, Xiaomi Mix-series, Vivo Nex-series, OnePlus 7 Pro, Redmi K30 Extreme Edition, OPPO Find X-series, and more have been made eligible for this. After filling out the registration questionnaires, selected users will be brought to the offline venue at Guangzhou on the 23rd of November 2024, following the Nubia Z70 Ultra debut.
