The Chinese smartphone maker, Nubia, has now officially unveiled two of its latest smartphone models in Japan. These are the Nubia Flip 2 and Nubia S 5G devices.

Nubia Flip 2 and Nubia S 5G – Unveiled in Japan

Nubia’s Flip 2 is the brand’s vertically folding smartphone and it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity D7300X chip. It runs on the Android 14 operating system, and is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The device has a foldable main display of 6.9″ and has a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels. A rectangular-shaped cover display is also present, which is 3″ large and supports a screen resolution of 422 x 682 pixels.

On the camera side, a 50MP + 2MP camera system is offered at the rear. For selfies, users are also provided with a 32MP front-facing camera as well. Moreover, there is an LED ring light at the back too.

Regarding the battery, a decent 4300 mAh battery backup is given. Talk time of 1350 minutes, standby time of 410 hours, and 55 minutes of faster charging time are some more of its battery features.

Other key specs include 5G network connectivity, nano SIM + eSIM, Wi-Fi 6 with triple band support, Bluetooth 5.4, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face recognition, waterproof (IPX2) + dustproof (IP4X) body, 7.5mm (open)/15.8mm (closed) thickness, 191 gm weight, and more.

As mentioned, the Nubia Flip 2 comes in 6GB/128GB storage option and is priced at JPY 64080. It has three color choices – Black, White, and Blue.

The Nubia S 5G unlike the latest foldable uses the Unisoc T760 chip, and has the Android 14 operating system pre-installed in it. The device also has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, along with up to 1TB expandable storage support.

Speaking more, it features a 6.7″ TFT display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, and sports a 50MP triple rear camera unit and 16MP selfie camera. A 5000 mAh battery is also backed within the device, offering features like 2700 minutes talk time, 475 hours standby, and 83 minutes charging time.

5G network connectivity, nano SIM + eSIM, Bluetooth 5.0, side-mounted fingerprint reader, face recognition, waterproof (IPX5 & IPX8) + dust-proof (IP6X) body, 8.7mm thickness, and 197gm weight are more of its key specs.

It is priced at JPY 21996 for the 4GB/128GB storage model, and is available in three color choices of Black, White, and Blue (or Light Purple as per translation).

Now, the latest foldable from the brand has made it to yet another certification platform as we have spotted it on the Wi-Fi Alliance database. Via its listing, a few more key specs have been revealed.

Nubia Flip 2 – Wi-Fi Alliance Certification

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone which bears the model number – ‘NX732J’ has received the Wi-Fi Alliance certification with certification ID – ‘WFA133730’, and it has been categorized as a ‘5G Digital Mobile Phone’. The listing also points out that the device will support Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with triple band support (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz), and will run on the Android 14 operating system. WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise/Personal security protection and Wi-Fi Direct are the other specs revealed via the certification database.

As mentioned, we had previously spotted the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 smartphone on the TENAA and 3C databases as well, and many key specs were already revealed. To add, the TENAA database also revealed its render images as well. From what it seems and based on the previous Nubia Flip launch time, as suggested earlier, we are quite near to the Nubia Flip 2 official launch.

Speaking of the previously revealed key specs and details, Nubia’s Flip 2 device is pointed out to be powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage. A 6.85″ foldable AMOLED main display (1188 x 2970 pixels resolution) and a 3″ AMOLED cover display (422 x 682 pixels resolution) are going to be featured. On the camera side, a 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera unit and a 32MP selfie camera are expected. The device would also pack a 4225 mAh rated battery, supporting 33W wired fast charging. 5G network connectivity, Bluetooth, USB, under-display fingerprint reader, 7.2 mm thickness, and 193 gm weight are the other revealed/expected specs.

Following the recent listing on the TENAA database, Nubia’s Flip 2 smartphone has now made it to the 3C certification platform of China. Its wired charging spec has also thus been revealed.

Nubia Flip 2 – 3C Certification

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone which bears the model number – ‘NX732J’ has been certified by the 3C authority with the certificate number – ‘2024011606731401’ and certification validity till the 5th of December 2027. A charging adapter with model number – ‘STC-A5111530AC’ has also been listed along with the device, revealing that it will support a 33W wired fast charging feature just like its predecessor.

As mentioned, the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 was recently spotted on the TENAA database (previously on IMEI as well), and many of its specs and features were revealed. You may check out its revealed specs and features below.

The February 2024 unveiled Nubia Flip (re-branded ZTE Libero Flip) successor, the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 foldable has been spotted on the TENAA database of China. Following the Nubia Flip smartphone launch in April 2024, the brand seems to release the next Nubia Flip 2 also in the Chinese market soon. Along with the certification listing, the key specs and design images of the device have also been revealed.

Nubia Flip 2 – TENAA Certification

The Nubia Flip 2 smartphone is suggested to carry the model number – ‘NX732J’ and has been certified by the TENAA authority of China with the certification number – ’02-B656-243733′. It has been listed on the database as a 5G digital mobile phone with 2G/3G/4G/5G network connectivity support.

Coming to its revealed specs, it is pointed out to feature a 6.85″ large foldable AMOLED main display with 1188 x 2970 pixels resolution and 16.7 million color depth, along with a 3″ AMOLED cover display with 422 x 682 pixels resolution and the same 16.7 million color depth. At the rear, there is a 50MP + 2MP dual camera system and a 32MP front-facing camera is present for selfies. In size, the device measures 169.4 x 76 x 7.2 mm, and it weighs 193 gm.

The device will also be powered by a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor, and will run on Android. It will also be coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB internal storage. A 4225 mAh rated battery is also revealed to be backed within it.

Other specs include Bluetooth and USB connectivity, as well as sensors such as an under-display fingerprint scanner, gravity sensor, distance sensor, and light sensor.

Now speaking of the design, the major design change that one will identify on the upcoming Nubia Flip 2 when compared with its predecessor is the new cover display and rear camera unit. The previous Nubia Flip features a circular 1.43″ cover display with the two cameras occupied around the black outer area of the cover display. The LED flash is placed outside at the top-left corner.

The Nubia Flip 2 on the other hand will have a larger rectangular-shaped cover display with two vertically arranged individual cameras at the left side. Below the cameras, there is also a ring LED flashlight as well, and a centrally-aligned punch-hole selfie camera is given on the display.

To note, the new Nubia Flip 2 is slightly smaller and slightly wider in size. It is also slightly thicker than the previous model. Also to add, it has notably been made lighter than the Nubia Flip device. [Nubia Flip – Dimension: 170 x 75.5 x 7.0 mm (folded); Weight: 214 gm.]

Apart from the TENAA database, the device also appeared on IMEI (via Gizmochina) with the same model number and the moniker was mentioned as ‘Nubia Flip II’.
