If you’ve made it through Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday and you STILL have holiday shopping to do, fear not: there are endless options for that perfect gift, and we have some great places for you to shop local in Chestertown.
This Friday, December 5th, is the most festive First Friday of the year! (Yes, we celebrate First Friday every month of the year). Luminaries on the sidewalks, Santa visiting, and school children caroling. The whole thing is very Norman Rockwell-esque. It’s a lovely backdrop for gift shopping, which, let’s face it, can be kind of stressful at this time of year.
For something truly unique, why not shop at the RiverArts Holiday Show and Sale? With over 700 items representing more than 50 artists and artisans, there is surely something for everyone. It’s right in the center of the action downtown. And coincidentally, our lovely gardener and part-time server Manick, who is also potter, has some pieces in the show.
Of course all the other shops and galleries will be open late as well.
Another unique option the following week on Thursday, December 11, is the open house at Unity Church Hill Nursery from 5-7pm. They will have music, oysters and other goodies around a bonfire. It’s a lovely setting only about 10 miles from the inn and you’ll find more than just the usual plants; they have a very nice pottery and gift selection as well.
If you’re in town with your four-legged bestie, stop in at Coco’s Pet Center on High Street. For a $10 donation to the Humane Society of Kent County, get a photo of your pet and your family with Santa Claus! It’s a great cause and makes a nice keepsake or gift!
So don’t let the stress of shopping get you down. Come on over to the land of pleasant living and relax while you shop. It’s the only way to do it!!! Let us help you relax and unwind at Brampton Bed and Breakfast Inn.
