Winter Fun in Chestertown, MD!…which will continue here in Chestertown throughout the winter. This Friday, December 6, shops and galleries stay open late and the sidewalks will actually be crowded (well, sort of crowded, for Chestertown!) It’s always very festive with luminary bags lining the sidewalks, and carolling school children. Even the banks stay open and offer cookies and punch. It’s almost impossible to resist the holiday spirit with all of this happening near our Chestertown, MD bed and breakfast. If you are still in the shopping mood after this past long weekend of merchandising, you’re in luck. One of the best places to go for (literally) one of a kind gifts is Chestertown RiverArts, our community art center. Their Holiday Gift Show is just that: an art exhibit full of local art that makes great gifts.
But what if you’ve had it with shopping and just want some fun? No worries, there is so much to choose from this weekend, you may have trouble deciding what to do:
On both Friday and Sunday, take in a classical concert at the always popular Chester River Chorale’s “A Chester River Holiday”
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, take in a show at the Garfield with an “Eastern Shore Home companion with(out) Garrison Keillor”.
Want to feel like a kid again? Check out the Toy Train and Model Railroad exhibit at our wonderful public library!
On Saturday, join the throngs traipsing through historical houses that are decked for the season on the Holiday House Tour. Or if you’d rather be outdoors, Saturday is also the day for the yearly open house at Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge.
Heading back home on Sunday? Still looking for a bit of fun? Head to Galena, MD for the Holiday Happening on the Flower Farm for food, local wine, a bonfire, and well, yes, gifts!
