Huawei Updates its Chinese Developer Website With ‘HarmonyOS’ Branding Instead of ‘HarmonyOS NEXT’
The Chinese consumer electronics maker, Huawei, released its latest HarmonyOS NEXT custom skin last year in the month of October 2024 built within the brand’s ecosystem and marking the complete departure from Android. While the public beta program of HarmonyOS NEXT is ongoing for certain devices, the brand has updated the Chinese developer website with the ‘HarmonyOS’ branding. This could mean that Huawei is returning back to ‘HarmonyOS’ from ‘HarmonyOS NEXT’.

Huawei Going Back to ‘HarmonyOS’ Branding From HarmonyOS ‘NEXT’?
Based on this new update (received via @LivingInHarmony), it has been pointed out that as per Huawei’s updated Chinese developer website, the brand is slowly returning back to ‘HarmonyOS’ branding from ‘HarmonyOS NEXT’. The ‘DEVELOPERS’ tag further reiterates the website shift that is believed to take place soon, and a message board about the Chinese Spring Festival is being displayed now.
During the Spring Festival holiday from the 28th of January 2025 to the 4th of February 2025, Huawei is planning on rolling out a few updates and these may be affecting Huawei developer services. Review for identity verification, review for merchant identification, and customer service are some of the things that will be carried out during the holiday period. About a few other news concerning the brand, very recently Huawei introduced two of its latest products for Indian customers. The Huawei Band 9 smart band was made available in India at INR 3,999 (pre-order price, now INR 5031), followed by the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 TWS earbuds at INR 2,999 (introductory price, now INR 4,499).
